General Observation
Kodahiru populate the deep, secluded forests of Luna. With its glowing light, it protects the woods, guiding kind travelers and misleading those with ill intent.
Entry I
The earliest sightings of the Western Kodahiru come from timber camps and fruit-harvesting posts in the far western regions of Luna. The laborers describe a bird-like, curious creature with pale, bioluminescent skin, floating and twinkling in the gloom. As a notoriously superstitious people, the workers were spooked by the sudden sightings and quickly packed up shop.
While the citizens of the region were used to bioluminescent fauna, they had never seen such unnatural, almost inorganic creatures.. Notably, their dark, round eyes were most intimidating; an image which sparked many embellished stories. Rumors spread of ghostly spirits haunting any catfolk who dared harvest their sacred forest, and this escalated tension between two already conflicting philosophies in Luna: those who believed that expansion of settlement was an incursion on the delicate, spiritually divine ecosystem, and those who argued that catfolk lives were as deserving of fruit and shelter as any animal.
Explorers and priests who set out to locate the creature could not once again find it, and officials assumed that, if the creature really was a vengeful spirit trying to communicate with catfolk, it would make itself known in time.
