This article is a work in progress.
Here's what's left to do:

Farming is a feature where players can plants various crops to yield different items.

Cultivation

Seeds, a type of  food, can be planted in a plot to cultivate different crops. The majority of seeds are purchased at Winnifred's Seed Stand, while the rest are obtained by completing Errands, or opening Pouches. A singular plot can have up to ten of the same crop planted at a time.

There are two types of crops: stalks and trees. Stalks are fast growers, and become harvestable after 3 days. They yield best in low soil quality, and increase soil quality by 20% after each harvest. Trees are slow growers that yield best in high soil quality. They can be harvested multiple times during days 7 through 11, and decrease the soil quality by -10% after each harvest.

To start, every seed needs a  Watering Can for watering to begin growing after being planted. Afterwards the crop will need to be tended to daily to continue growth. Unattended crops do not grow. Crops in the growing stage will request for items with a rarity of 0. A farmer cat can be added to a plot to automatically complete the task assuming the player has the item in their storage. Other actions must be done manually by the player.

Crop Yields

The number of crops planted as well as the soil quality directly affects the amount of yield upon harvest.  Scraps or  ash can be spread over a plot to adjust the soil quality once after every harvest. Every unit of scraps increases soil quality by 1%, and every unit of ash decreases soil quality by -1%.

Note: In the future a detailed table will be included to show the link between yields and soil quality and placement.

All trees, except for  Bamboo Shoot Seed, will yield  stick when pruned, and  Dark Hardwood or  Light Hardwood when chopped. Bamboo Shoot Seeds will yield  Bamboo in either case instead. Below is a table of available seeds and their potential yields.

Plots

Every player begins with a singular plot. Two additional plots can be purchased with Copper , for a total of three plots. The total cost to buy the additional plots is 150,000 . Below is a table summarizing the costs.

Upgrade Number Total Plots Cost
0 1 0
1 2 50,000
2 3 100,000

Growth Stages

As a crop grows it will cycle into different stages:

  • Planted: The crop has just been planted, it will require a  Watering Can.
  • Growing: The crop is still growing, and is not yet ready to harvest. While a crop is growing it'll request 0 rarity items.
  • Ready: The crop is ready to be harvested.
  • Harvested: Appears after a crop has been harvested for the day.
  • Spent: Applicable only to trees, this is the final day in the trees lifespan.
Stalk Growth Stages
Day 1 - 2  Growing
Day 3  Harvestable
Tree Growth Stages
Day 1 - 6  Growing
Day 7 - 11  Harvestable
Day 12  Spent

Fertilizers

Main Article: Nana Nettle

Fertilizers can be applied to a plot before or during cultivation to apply different effects. Additional information can be found at Nana Nettle.

Fertilizer Description
Alluring Fertilizer A sweet-smelling fertilizer which increases the chance of a Fauna event during cultivation.
Reliable Fertilizer A traditional fertilizer which prevents any random event during cultivation.
Eventful Fertilizer An interesting fertilizer which increases the chance of a random event during cultivation, positive or negative.
Lucky Fertilizer A fortunate fertilizer which increases the chance of a positive random event during cultivation.
Risky Fertilizer A dubious fertilizer which may either double a harvest's yield... or cut it in half.
Bountiful Fertilizer A rich and hearty fertilizer which significantly increases a harvest's yield.
Rich Fertilizer A rich and hearty fertilizer which slightly increases a harvest's yield.

Events

Events can randomly happen during any growth stage, and can help or hurt a player's crop yields. Players can use fertilizers to boost event chances on a plot, or prevent them from happening all together.
