Entry I
The Western Nautitum is an impressive beast which dominates the depths between the Marland reef and the crescent bend. The Nautitum was first documented during sailor gossip around the docks of Tsuribari. A few fishermen exclaimed that, while out near the crescent, a mighty leviathan rose from the abyss, opening its great maw, and their once full net of fish was empty in the blink of an eye.
While rare to encounter for more than a few heartbeats, divers have uncovered its remains. The oldest skull on record measures thirteen tail lengths from snout to scruff. Remains of the sack atop its pharynx have also been discovered, and curiously contain undigested remains of smaller fish species, intact and marinated in a peculiar saline solution.
