General Observation

Gifted to young catfolk as both a protector and friend, the Korg'warde breed is known for its unwavering bravery and unbending loyalty towards catfolk.

Entry I

Korg’warde come from Central Harvest, bred for scouting, herding, and sparring between rivaling villages. Harvest breeders preferred sturdy, short-statured dogs. But when these animals began popping up with a bony spike on their heads, early settlements dismissed it as a growth or benign malformation. Over multiple generations, Korg'warde developed a single, curved horn, becoming a visual staple of the breed. Korg'warde spread rapidly across farms and settlements near the Wastes. They are resistant to minor magical anomalies, and easily navigate magical terrain, making them invaluable to Waste border communities. It’s believed that this magical endurance and instinct is due to their horn.

Many varieties of Korg’warde exist today, in part due to Harvest’s lackadaisical attitude towards refined breeding.

During wartime, settlement leaders armored Korg'warde with metal plates and used them for battle. In a famous story, a single Korg'warde, named Patchum, held a collapsing tree long enough for its master to escape, at the cost of its own life. Patchum was later dubbed a hero, and is a symbol for the breed’s perseverance and unrelenting love of catfolk.
