Fauna

Fauna are companions that can be linked to a cat on their page. They are non-feline animals that live alongside the catfolk of Kotemara and are seen as wildlife, pets, or livestock.

Fauna are divided into two groups: General and Special. General fauna are readily available and can be earned through normal gameplay. Special fauna are fauna no longer obatainable in-game except through trading, such as Kickstarter exclusives or bug bounty faunas.

Faunapedia

The Faunapedia is an encyclopedia for all in-game Fauna. In the Faunapedia, users can check what fauna they have already unlocked, sort these by their expertise level, and view information about specific fauna.

Fauna can be studied once every in-game day once linked to a cat in the user's camp. Studying fauna gives the user a small amount of Copper and has a rare chance to give a low-star item. There are five stages to studying a fauna. The Discovered stage and a General Observation about the Fauna unlock once the Fauna is obtained. It takes 5 days to reach the Observing stage, where Entry I is unlocked. It takes 8 more days to reach the Documenting stage, where Entry II is unlocked. It takes X more days to reach the Understanding stage, where Entry III is unlocked. It takes X more days to unlock the Mastered stage.

Not all Fauna have all three entries provided in game. It is unknown when these missing entries will be added, but it will likely be before the game leaves beta.

There are currently six Fauna exclusive to Kickstarter supporters, thirteen backer-created Fauna that are General Fauna, and eleven other General Fauna, all original to Pawborough.

There will be at least thirty-nine additional Fauna added to the game.^{[Citation needed]}
