| The design of this gene was likely inspired by [[wikipedia:Cardinalidae|Cardinalidae]], some species of which feature darker wings, tails and facial markings. It also shares some similarities to [[wikipedia:Point coloration|colorpoint cats]]. Cats with this gene have darker markings on their ears, faces, backs, legs and tails. Their eyes and eyebrows are outlined in a lighter color, as are the bases of their ears.
