The '''Overgrowth''' [[Genes|Gene]] is a variated accent gene.

There are four different variations of this gene. When a cat with the gene is born or when the gene is applied, there is a 25% chance of any particular variation to appear.

The designs of this gene resemble a variety of plant (or fungal) life, including [[wikipedia:Hedera|ivy]], [[wikipedia:Herb|herbs]], [[wikipedia:Flower|flowers]] and [[wikipedia:Mushroom|toadstools]].

Cats with this gene appear to have plants (or fungi) growing from their bodies. The specific type is dependent on the gene variation carried by the cat:
* Cats with the Ivy variation grow monotype, teardrop-shaped ivy leaves.
* Cats with the Herbal variation grow a mix of clover and dandelion leaves.
* Cats with the Blossom variation grow a mix of roses, daisies, forget-me-nots, and balloon flowers.
* Cats with the Toadstool variation grow a mix of mica cap and polypore mushrooms, lichen, and moss.

'''White Coverage''' is a set of white markings that cover a cat's existing [[Genes]]. It was introduced in the June 2023 [[Kickstarter]] update.

White coverage is made up of various white shapes that are layered in accordance with a cat's white coverage level, which spans from low, medium, high, and full. There are over 100 unique shapes that can appear including freckles, tufts, spots, and mittens. Cats with the same level of coverage can present differently.

The white coverage levels will be taken into consideration while [[Breeding]].

Breed-only white markings include:
*Forehead crescent moon
*Forehead egg
*Forehead star

During founder creation, a player can select specific white coverage markings through an advanced settings menu, much like in the [[Cat Creator]]. Otherwise, white coverage can be applied, adjusted, and removed with [[Marbles]], though it should be noted marble application is random (barring full and none).

The '''Guild''' is a feature modeled after tabletop role-play and mystery dungeon games. Users may create their own guilds or register in another User's.

==Registration==
Users may have guilds with a minimum of one member up to a maximum of fifty members. Guilds can be registered as public or private, and each guild must have a unique name.

Each guild has its own private forum and customizable logo and backdrops.

==Jobs & Missions==
Cats around [[Mewmoia]] will request for specific tasks to be completed, such as being escorted to a dangerous location or for a specific item to be located. These postings are referred to as jobs.

When a guild member attempts to complete one of these jobs, they will embark on a mission. Each mission will have 25 events which prompt the cats in one's party to engage in combat, attempt to obtain an item, or escape peril. Based on each cats class and stats, each event will have a failure or success.
===Combat===
Combat takes place on a 20x20 board. Each cat will take up four squares. Combat takes into account what environment the cat or enemy is in. Different sorts of tiles (such as water or ledge tiles) can provide an advantage or disadvantage. Enemies to defeat in combat are generated NPCs (non-playable cats).

Turn order is determined by speed stat. In the event of a Speed stat tie, the amount of critical successes or failures in a cat's Speed stat are taken into account; cats with critical successes trump over cats without. If there is still a tie, a dice roll determines who will go first.

Movement depends on level:
*Level 1: 6 Spaces

Fortune and Doom must always be rolled before the outcome is rolled. A D20 is rolled to compare to a cat's stats. A roll is successful if the number is equal to or below their attribute. A successful roll towards Fortune will replace a white die (or a critical failure, if no white die are available) with a critical success. A successful roll towards Doom will do the same, but add a critical failure.

The point total for any roll is as follows:
*White die fail: +/- 0
*White die success: +1
*Critical success fail: +1
*Critical Success success: +2

There are also Fortune and Doom attributes, which do not effect by any particular class and cannot have additional stat points added later.

There is a maximum of 30 stat points that can be put towards any particular attribute. The amount of stat points put towards any attribute dictates how many dice rolls are given to that attribute with a maximum of seven rolls per attribute. The distribution of rolls is as follows:
*1 Roll: 0-4 Points

*3 Rolls: 10-14 Points

The ''Kickstarter'' to raise money for [[PawBorough]]'s development was held from October 5th, 2022 through November 5th, 2022. The original goal was US$20,000, and the campaign ended with a total of $87,244.72 and 1,021 backers.

Backers were permitted to add additional add-ons through February 3rd, 2023.

==Reward Levels==
Backing the game rewarded backers various exclusive items. All tiers will give the backer at least one beta key, which gives the user access to the closed beta. Once the beta stage is on, items will be redeemable via codes. These codes can be used twice; once during closed beta, and once open beta begins.

===Unlimited Tiers===
====Beta Tier ($5)====
This tier would give a backer a beta key, a [[Javasqueak]] companion, and the Founding achievement on the backer's user page.
====Digital Tier ($10)====

In December 2023, it was announced that one of the Monarch Bundle add-ons had been refunded, and instead of going unclaimed, would be raffled off to the userbase. The raffle lasted for a month, starting on January 9th, 2024, and ending on February 9th, 2024.

This tier gives the backer all of the rewards from the Monarch Tier, as well as an extra of each companion.

===Limited Tiers===
These tiers had a limited number of slots available. These tiers saw exclusive access to Early Bird keys, which allow a backer to access the closed beta three days before normal beta keys.
====Early Cardinal ($50)====
This tier was limited to a maximum of 100 backers, and all 100 were claimed. This tier operated as a special version of the Onyx and Opal Tiers, allowing backers to choose which of the two they'd prefer as well as replacing one of the beta keys with an Early Bird beta key.
====Early Bluejay ($80)====
This tier was limited to a maximum of 100 backers, and all 100 were claimed. This tier operated as a discounted version of the Fauna Fanatic Tier while replacing one of the beta keys with an Early Bird beta key.
====Faunapedia Replica ($140)====
This tier was limited to a maximum of 20 backers, and all 20 were claimed. This tier gives the backer all of the rewards from Early Bluejay as well as a physical hardcover first edition Faunapedia replica book, to ship at a later date.
====Design a Recipe ($200)====
This tier was limited to a maximum of 10 backers, and all 10 were claimed. This tier gives the backer all of the rewards from Early Bluejay and allows the backer to work with the PawBorough team to design three raw food items and a final recipe item. The designed final recipe item would be made into a blueprint, a food item, and a themed decor item. This tier also gives the backer the Head Chef achievement.

====Design a Companion ($350)====

====Design a Breed ($1500)====
There was only one slot for this tier, and it was claimed. This tier gives the backer all of the rewards from the Faunapedia Replica Tier and allows the backer to work with the PawBorough team to design the mystic counterpart breed to the [[Ragdoll]]. This tier also gives the backer the Custom achievement and the Faunapedia replica book.

===Add-ons===
Adding additional funds to the campaign would reward the backer with items. All unlimited tiers were available as add-ons for their normal prices. The original $20,000 goal was to get the site's beta running, but stretch goals helped to give backers an idea of what could be fast-tracked to be added to the game at launch.
